Saturday, 6 March at 7:30pm for two hours
This course entails practicing survey methods to assess the number of sea turtles visiting the nesting site. You will learn how to record data of the nests, sea turtles, hatchlings and eggs.
Beach assessment by dividing into sectors and quadrates to assess the number of visited sea turtles before monitoring. Standardized data sheets will be used to collect the data for old and new nests. Other data for tracks and sea turtle measurements will take place.
This two hour course includes both ONLINE sessions, workshop training and the final exam.
Online sessions of the Monitoring the Sea Turtles in Nesting Ground course is consist of three different parts:
Part One: Knowledge Development.
Estimate the number of sea turtles that visited the beach.
Measurements (tracks, nests, sea turtles, eggs, hatches).
Part Two: Workshop Training.
